Laura Schnetzler, MSJ, MB(ASCP) has over 10 years of experience in the medical field. Laura began their career in 2009 as a Morgue Intern at Yale University, where they completed 160 hours of observation and assisted with autopsies and registry of bodies. In 2010, they became a Technician at the Connecticut Eye Bank for Tissue Banks International, where they were responsible for surgically removing corneas, posterior poles, whole globes, full thickness skin, and bone, as well as office duties such as entering donors into a Donor Management System, completing medical charts, evaluations of tissue, supply ordering, inventory of supplies, and general laboratory cleaning. In 2012, they joined BioReference Laboratories as a Technologist. In 2015, they joined Clinical Genomics as a Development Technologist II, where they were responsible for primary testing, performing duties such as specimen receipt and accessioning, blood processing, DNA extraction, bisulfite conversion, PCR, and data analysis. Laura also wrote technical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all processes performed in the laboratory. In 2020, they were promoted to Development Technologist III/Sr. Lab Manager at Clinical Genomics, where they were responsible for the improvement and development of current and new tests, executing experiments in support of new product development including end-to-end assay performance, workflow and automation, process development, validation, and transfer to Operations. Laura also maintained inventory of supplies, equipment and/or reagents.
Laura Schnetzler, MSJ, MB(ASCP) earned their Master's degree in American/U.S. Law/Legal Studies/Jurisprudence from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science, Biology; Pre-Medical from the University of New Haven in 2010. In 2015, Laura obtained their MB(ASCP) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
