Mariya Petrova, LMHC, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of mental health counseling and clinical development. Mariya is currently the Director of Medical Affairs at Click Therapeutics, Inc. starting in 2023. Previously, they worked as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine from 2022.

Before that, they had their own Private Practice since 2014, where they specialized in serving individuals and families with substance use disorders and affective disorders. Mariya incorporated evidence-based culturally-sensitive interventions in their practice and was trained in various clinical approaches.

Mariya also worked at Pear Therapeutics as the Director of Clinical Development and Medical Affairs. In this role, they provided clinical insight into the development and maintenance of prescription digital therapeutics. Mariya also led a cross-functional team in the strategic execution of a clinical development program targeting Alcohol Use Disorder.

Prior to that, they were a Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Miami from 2020 to 2021, and a Doctoral Student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine from 2016 to 2020. Mariya began their career as an Associate Faculty at the University of Rochester Medical Center in 2008.

Mariya Petrova, LMHC, PhD has an extensive education history. In 2004, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics from SUNY Geneseo. Building upon this foundation, they pursued their Master of Science (MS) degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Rochester, graduating in 2011. Recently, in 2020, Mariya Petrova completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Prevention Science and Community Health from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Their diverse educational background showcases their dedication to understanding and addressing mental health issues through a holistic and evidence-based approach.
