Wouter IJzermans serves as the Executive Director of the Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA) since April 2021, leading initiatives to promote research and innovation in the battery sector supported by a European Commission investment of 925 million euros. Concurrently, Wouter operates as a Senior Consultant at CLERENS, a Brussels-based public affairs consultancy specializing in advocacy and strategic communications. Previous roles include Developer for Sustainable Heating and Cooling at Eneco, Business Partner for Smart Metering at Enexis Groep, and Consultant for Sustainable Energy and Infrastructures at Driven by Values. Wouter started a career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands as an intern focusing on climate and energy policy. Wouter holds a Master's degree in International Relations and Affairs from the University of Groningen and has further studies at Università degli studi Roma TRE.
