Taylor Southwick has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. They worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at ClearMotion, starting in 2023. Prior to that, they were part of Wash U Racing as a QA Lead, responsible for verifying designs and drawings, manufacturing the car, and utilizing CAD, CAM, and simulation packages. They also worked as a Suspension Designer at Wash U Racing, where they designed suspension parts, optimized assemblies, and calculated forces.

Additionally, Taylor had a Co-op role as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Butterfly Network, Inc. in 2022, where they worked on design, manufacturing, and prototyping projects. They also had a Teaching Assistant position at Washington University in St. Louis, where they assisted in teaching computer-aided design and machine elements.

Furthermore, Taylor gained experience as an Engineering Intern at Young Innovations, Inc., where they updated drawings and used various measurement techniques for quality control. They also worked as a Delivery Driver at kdh Doors & Hardware, Inc., delivering doors and implementing an online inventory tracking system. Lastly, Taylor worked as a Cabin Counselor at CAMP O-AT-KA, where they supervised and prepared campers for wilderness guiding examinations.

Taylor Southwick attended the Dexter Southfield School from 2003 to 2018. They then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis from 2018 to 2022. Following that, they enrolled in the Washington University McKelvey School of Engineering for a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, which they completed in 2023.
