Lamont James has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Lamont began their career at Microsoft as a Software Developer II in September 2008 and held this role until January 2013. Following this, they joined Google as a Software Engineer from January 2013 to March 2014. Lamont then worked at Verst as a Software Engineer from March 2014 to December 2017. Currently, they are employed at ClassPass and has held the role of Software Engineer since January 2018. Lamont recently transitioned to the role of Software Engineering Manager in November 2021.

Lamont James attended Harvard University from 2004 to 2008 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
