Roëll van Druten has a strong background in engineering and leadership roles. Roëll began their career in 1996 as a System Engineer at Janssen Precision Engineering. Roëll then worked as a PhD researcher at Bosch Transmission Technology, where they stayed until 2001. Following this, they worked as a Post doc at Eindhoven University of Technology until 2006. In 2003, they became the CEO of Drivetrain Innovations and held this role for a decade. In 2005, they also became the CEO of Advatech and stayed until 2017. In 2013, they joined Punch Powertrain as the Chief Engineer eDCT and later became the Principal Transmission Expert, leaving in 2020. Currently, they are the CTO at Classified Cycling, a position they have held since 2017.
Roëll van Druten obtained a MSC degree in Precision Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Automotive Technology at the same institution, completing it between 1997 and 2001. Following their PhD, they engaged in post-doctoral studies at Eindhoven University of Technology from 2002 to 2006, focusing on Hybrid Drivetrains.
