Ruth Kimani is currently a Senior Program Associate at CLASP. Prior to that, they worked as a Field Enumerator for Digital Divide Data from March 2014 to April 2014. In that role, they were responsible for setting appointments with and conducting interviews with Head or Deputy Head Teachers at designated primary schools, recording all data on mobile phones; monitoring the situation of school sanitation facilities, using a template and recording the data on a mobile phone; assisting Head and Deputy Head Teachers with the mobile EMIS survey; ensuring successful implementation of a series of interventions to improve sanitation services, including delivering materials and information to parents, schools and teachers; reporting back on progress and findings to field supervisor and research manager; participating in daily progress-tracking and analysis phone calls with the research team; providing feedback to the research manager and project manager on data analysis based on fieldwork; and maintaining the interest, trust, and participation of participating communities and schools.
Before their work with Digital Divide Data, Ruth Kimani was a Regional Intern for the National Council of Churches of Kenya from September 2012 to September 2013.
Ruth Kimani has a Master's degree in Environmental Policy and Management from Lincoln University (NZ), and a BSC in Disaster Management and International Diplomacy from Masinde Muliro Universiity of Science and Technology.
