Matthew Cooper is an experienced audience editor and writer with a robust background in music journalism and digital content. Currently serving as the Audience Editor at The Independent since February 2021, Matthew also contributes as a writer for Clash Music Group since June 2015. Previous roles include Multi-channel Copywriter for JD Sports Fashion plc, SEO Specialist and writer for Manchester Evening News, and Staff Writer at LADbible Group. Matthew’s early career features contributions to publications such as Flush Magazine and DIY Magazine, along with work placements at Music Week and NME. Matthew holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Journalism and Broadcasting from the University of Staffordshire, completed in 2014.
