Ying Chen has worked in the software engineering field since 2007. Ying began their career as a Research Assistant at Stony Brook University in 2007. In 2012, they became a Core Developer at MediaMath. In 2016, they were promoted to VP Software Engineer at J.P. Morgan. In 2019, they moved to Compass as a Senior Software Engineer. Currently, they are a Staff Software Engineer at CivicScience.

Ying Chen obtained a Bachelor degree in Computational Mathematics from Nankai University in 2005. Ying then pursued a Master degree in Computational & Applied Mathematics from Stony Brook University, which they completed in 2009. Ying Chen subsequently earned their PhD in Computational & Applied Mathematics from Stony Brook University in 2012.
