Karina Ricks is a seasoned professional in urban planning and transportation management, currently serving as a Partner at Cityfi since July 2022. Prior roles include Assistant Administrator for Research, Innovation, and Demonstration at the Federal Transit Administration and Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure for the City of Pittsburgh, where Ricks established a transportation framework aimed at enhancing mobility and economic opportunity. Experience also encompasses leadership positions at Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, the District Department of Transportation, and the DC Office of Planning, where Ricks managed critical transportation initiatives and policies. Additionally, Ricks has international experience as an election monitor and has contributed to smart growth initiatives with the US EPA. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from Cornell University and a Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University.
