Javier Marin, MBA-IB, CEcD, CGBP, currently serves as the Director of Economic Opportunity for the City of Tampa since May 2023. Previously, Javier held various leadership roles at the Central Florida Development Council from October 2016 to May 2023, including Vice President of Business Development and Sr. Director of Business Resiliency & Global Trade, focusing on fostering a "Glocal Economy" to attract domestic and global investors to Polk County. Javier also directed the Polk Global Trade Alliance and has experience as Assistant Director at the FSBDC at the University of South Florida, Vice President at SunTrust Bank, Executive Director at MCOHA, and Mayor of Dover, NJ. Educational qualifications include two Master of Business Administration degrees in International Business/Trade/Commerce from Webber International University, a Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Administration/Nonprofit Management from Polk State College, and an Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration from Middlesex College.
