Jeff Derwort, AICP, currently serves as the Planning Manager and Zoning Administrator for the City of Sumter since June 2017, after holding the position of Senior Planner. Prior experience includes serving as the Community & Economic Development Manager at Lower Savannah Council of Governments from January 2015 to June 2017, where Jeff Derwort managed federally funded projects and assisted local governments in obtaining funding. Prior roles also encompass responsibilities as a Planner for the City of Monroe, NC, and various positions at Lower Savannah Council of Governments and Gaston Urban Area MPO. Jeff Derwort began professional development with an internship at Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Geography with a concentration in city and regional planning from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
