Amitabh Barthakur is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in urban planning and architecture. Currently serving as a Partner at HR&A Advisors since December 2013 and as a Planning Commissioner for the City of South Pasadena since January 2021, Amitabh has held significant positions in reputable organizations. Previously, Amitabh was Vice President and Regional Director of Planning, Design & Development at AECOM from November 2007 to November 2013, and Principal at Economics Research Associates from September 1998 to October 2007. Early in the career, Amitabh worked at Architecture Alliance as a Designer from January 1993 to August 1994. Amitabh's educational background includes a Master of Planning in Urban Planning focusing on Economic Development and a Master of Building Science in Architecture from the University of Southern California, along with a Bachelor of Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi.
