Eva Colen is the Director of the Office of Children & Families at the City of Richmond, Virginia. Eva is also a Senior Policy Advisor to Mayor Levar Stoney. Previously, Eva founded and served as the Executive Director of Virginia Excels, an organization dedicated to ensuring all children in the Commonwealth have equitable access to quality education. With a background in education advocacy and community engagement, Eva has held various roles at organizations such as Teach For America and Leadership for Educational Equity. Their academic background includes a B.A. in Classics and Women's & Gender Studies from Columbia University, an M.S. in Urban Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown University.
