Janie Farrar currently serves as a City Council Member for the City of Red Wing and is an active Red Wing YMCA Trustee. Since 2017, Janie has held the position of Appointed Parks Board Director for Goodhue County, demonstrating leadership as vice chair and chair. Janie has also contributed to youth sports as a volleyball coach at Red Wing Senior High School and previously served as an Elected School Board Member for Red Wing Public Schools. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government and Public Relations from the University of Minnesota. Janie is recognized for extensive volunteer leadership roles, including past leadership positions within the Red Wing YMCA and participation in leadership development programs like the Blandin Community Leadership Program and the Humphrey School of Public Affairs Policy Fellowship. With a background in healthcare coordination, Janie brings a diverse skill set to community service and leadership.
