Daniela Rivas, ICMA-CM, MPA CPM, currently serves as the City Manager for the City of Newton, KS, beginning in January 2024. Previously, Daniela held the position of Assistant City Administrator for the City of McPherson from February 2022 to January 2024 and served as City Administrator for the City of Columbus, KS, from September 2018 to March 2022. Earlier experience includes the role of Director of Finance for the City of Park City from August 2015 to September 2018, where responsibilities encompassed overseeing all financial operations, budgeting, and financial reporting. Daniela also worked as Finance Officer for the City of Winfield, KS, from 2012 to 2015, managing various finance department operations, and as a Senior Accountant for Sedgwick County Government from 2008 to 2012, responsible for fund governance and grant management. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance, a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Public Finance and City Management, and certification as a Public Manager from The University of Kansas.
