Melanie Losoya is an experienced animal services professional currently serving as the Shelter Programming Coordinator and Animal Services Officer for the City of Mont Belvieu, Texas, since November 2021. In this role, Melanie develops and oversees various shelter programs, establishes partnerships with rescue groups, coordinates medical care and pet transfers, and manages volunteer efforts while engaging the community through educational events. Prior to this position, Melanie worked as an Animal Control Officer for the City of Seabrook, where responsibilities included responding to animal-related calls and enforcing laws, and further experience was gained at Houston SPCA, Natural Pawz, PetSmart, and Hidden Acres Pet Resort. Melanie holds an Associate of Science degree in Natural Sciences from Houston Community College and a diploma in Photography from Ridgewater College.
