Alvaro C. Macias, CUBDP, CUDE, has extensive experience in business development and community engagement, currently serving as Vice President of Business Development at Ascentra Credit Union since August 2010, having previously held roles as Assistant Vice President of Community Development and Community Development Manager. In these positions, Alvaro focuses on grant funding and enhancing community awareness of the credit union. Alvaro also serves as an Alderman for the City of Moline since April 2021. Previous experience includes a role as a Financial Services Professional at MassMutual Financial Group, where expertise involved retirement analysis and estate strategies, and as Editor/Sales & Marketing at Hola America Publishing, Inc., where Alvaro contributed to outreach efforts within the Hispanic community. Alvaro's educational background includes a B.A. in Communications from St. Ambrose University and an Associate's degree from Black Hawk College.
