Human Resources Business Partner at City of Minneapolis

Heather Rende has extensive work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Heather began their career at MLT Vacations as a Reservationist from 1992 to 1995. Heather then worked as a Collections Agent at Target from 1995 to 1997, where they consistently received recognition as a top collector. Heather joined Carlson Companies in 1997 and held various positions including ARC Operator, Travel Agent II, Payroll Specialist, and Human Resources/Benefits Administrator. In these roles, they demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and maintained up-to-date knowledge of HR policies, benefits plans, and government regulations. From 2007 to 2008, Heather served as a Benefit/Leave of Absence Administrator at Carlson. Following this, they worked at Gannett Broadcasting, Inc. as a Regional HR Assistant from 2009 to 2010, where they handled payroll, benefits, and HR activities and assisted with special projects. Heather then joined Gannett Company Incorporated as an HR Operations Specialist from 2010 to 2012, where they collaborated with the VP/HR Operations to develop tools and training for the Employee Services team. Since 2012, Heather has been with the City of Minneapolis, where they have held various roles including Human Resources Associate, Human Resources Associate Consultant, Human Resources Senior Associate, Human Resources Consultant, Staffing Specialist, and currently, Human Resources Representative. Their tenure at the City of Minneapolis showcases their expertise in HR and their ability to take on increasingly responsible positions.

Heather Rende completed their education at several institutions over the course of their academic journey. Heather began their studies at Hopkins High School, although no specific degree or field of study is provided for this period. After graduating from high school, they attended North Hennepin Community College from 2006 to 2008, where they earned an Associate of Science degree in Business Management. Heather then continued their education at North Hennepin Community College from 2008 to 2011, obtaining another Associate of Science degree, this time in Accounting. In 2009, they also obtained a Human Resources Management Certificate from the same institution. Heather's educational pursuits led their to enroll at Metro State University from 2011 to 2013, where they graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management. Additionally, they completed a Pet First Aid program through the Red Cross in 2009.
