Lucas Sperfslage, SHRM-SCP, serves as the Human Resources Manager for the City of Marion, Iowa, since November 2020, overseeing HR operations for 250 full-time and part-time employees, along with 100 seasonal staff across three bargaining units. In this role, Lucas leads the HR department, develops infrastructure to enhance workplace efficiencies, and ensures compliance with various benefit regulations while guiding leadership on personnel policies. Additionally, Lucas is the President of the Eastern Iowa Human Resource Association since January 2023. Prior experience includes a position as HR Business Partner with Tata Consultancy Services, where Lucas supported senior leadership in HR best practices and managed talent acquisition initiatives. Lucas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Human Relations from the University of Iowa.
