Eric Matusak is a seasoned law enforcement professional currently serving as a Police Lieutenant with the City of Long Beach since 2007, managing the Collaborative Response Division's Critical Services Section. Matusak has a diverse background in law enforcement, previously holding positions as a Police Sergeant and Police Officer, where responsibilities included supervising specialized units and coordinating emergency preparedness efforts. Additionally, Matusak serves as a part-time instructor for the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center at the University of Hawaii, teaching courses on disaster awareness and community communication. In volunteer capacities, Matusak has served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for Long Beach Search & Rescue and held various roles from 1999 to 2015. Matusak's early experience included work as a Special Services Officer at the Port of Long Beach and as an EMT, providing emergency medical care. Educational credentials include an Advanced Academy in Emergency Management from the FEMA Emergency Management Institute and an Associate of Science degree from Long Beach City College.
