Jeff Young

Deputy Chief Of Police at City of Lake Stevens

Jeff Young has a diverse work experience in law enforcement and education. Jeff began their career in 1995 as a police officer in the City of Phoenix, where they served as a Lieutenant for 25 years until 2020. In 2020, they moved to the City of Mill Creek, Washington, where they held the position of Chief Of Police for one year. Currently, they are the Deputy Chief Of Police for the City of Lake Stevens. Alongside their law enforcement career, they also worked as an Adjunct Faculty at ITT Technical Institute from 2008 to 2013.

Jeff Young completed their education at Webster University from 2006 to 2008, where they obtained a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2006, they attended Wayland Baptist University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Human Services.

In addition to their academic achievements, Jeff Young also holds various certifications in law enforcement. In February 2021, they obtained the Police Officer/Law Enforcement Officer/Peace Officer Certification (POST) from the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. Jeff also obtained the High-Risk Vehicle Stops Instructor certification from the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training in February 2000. Furthermore, they hold the Certified Criminal Investigator certification from the same institution, obtained in February 1998. In April 1997, they acquired the Law Enforcement Training Instructor, General certification, and in October 1996, they obtained the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus certification. Lastly, in July 1995, they obtained the Police Officer/Law Enforcement Officer/Peace Officer Certification (POST) from the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training.
