Matt Daeumer has extensive experience in law enforcement and municipal management, serving as the Assistant City Manager and Assistant Chief of Police for the City of La Porte since August 1987. Daeumer's responsibilities include commanding the Support Services Bureau, acting as System Administrator for the OSSI Records Management System, and fulfilling the role of Custodian of Record. Prior experience includes serving as a Sergeant with the La Porte Police Department from July 1997 to November 2009, where key roles included Dayshift Patrol Commander, Support Services Supervisor, and SWAT Supervisor. Daeumer began as a Police Officer in the La Porte Police Department from August 1987 to July 1997, participating in various roles such as SWAT member and narcotic investigator. Academically, Daeumer holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor of Science in Leadership Development from both Sam Houston State University and Mountain State University.
