Brigitte Charles has extensive work experience in the field of human resources. Brigitte'smost recent position was as the Principal Human Resources Analyst at the City of Huntington Beach, where they have been working since 2000. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Human Resources/Classified Personnel at the Orange Unified School District for a brief period in 2000. From 1997 to 1999, Brigitte served as the Human Resources Director for the City of Rialto. Before that, they worked as the Assistant to the City Manager at the City of La Palma from 1990 to 1996. Brigitte'searliest known role was as a Senior Human Resources Analyst at the City of Santa Ana, where they worked from 1985 to 1990.

Brigitte Charles has a Master of Arts in Education (MAE) with a specialization in Secondary Education and Teaching from Arizona State University. Brigitte also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management/Human Resources from Cal State Univ, Long Beach.

In addition to their degrees, Brigitte has obtained several certifications. In 2009, they acquired the IPMA-SCP certification from the International Public Management Association-Human Resources. In 2012, they obtained the Certified Labor Relations Professional--CA certification from NPELRA/CA Chapter (PELRAC). Lastly, in 2015, they earned the Senior Certified Professional certification from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).
