Chris Schaefer, AICP, serves as the Planning Manager for the City of Fullerton since July 2022 and holds the position of Commander - Colonel (USAR) with the US Army Reserves from November 2023. Previously, Chris Schaefer had an extensive military career, including roles as Battalion Commander and Assistant Chief of Staff with the US Army Reserves from January 2018 to August 2022, and Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer from January 2010 to January 2018. In urban planning, Chris Schaefer was the Senior Planner for the City of La Habra from January 2004 to June 2022 and held earlier positions as Associate Planner for the City of Los Alamitos and Economic Development Planner for the City of Paramount. Chris Schaefer holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a focus on Geography, both from California State University, Long Beach.
