Cody Whittenburg has extensive work experience in the environmental health and city government sectors. Cody began their career in 2002 as an Administrative/Finance Officer at the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center. Cody then joined the City of Norman in 2006 as an Inspector in Engineering/Stormwater. In 2009, Cody moved to the City of Stillwater, where they served as the Stormwater Programs Manager/Floodplain Administrator. During this time, they led the development and management of stormwater and floodplain programs. In 2015, Cody joined the City of Fort Worth as the Environmental Manager. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing environmental quality and consumer health divisions and administering various environmental programs. More recently, Cody took on the role of Assistant Code Director/Managing Director for Environmental Health Services at the City of Fort Worth. In this senior-level position, they provide oversight for environmental health services, including environmental quality, sustainability, public health, emergency response, and solid waste planning. Cody also plays a crucial role in intergovernmental affairs, public engagement, and internal/external communications.
Cody Whittenburg received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Southeastern Oklahoma State University from 2002 to 2006. Cody then pursued a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science at the University of Oklahoma from 2007 to 2008. Afterward, they furthered their education at Oklahoma State University from 2010 to 2015, earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
