James Shelby is an accomplished professional in city and regional planning with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as Project Manager at the City of Forest Park since November 2020, James previously held the position of Director of Planning, Building, and Zoning at KJPLANNING CONSULTANTS from January 2015 to November 2020. Prior experience includes a decade as Commissioner for the City of Atlanta, where James advised on policies related to urban growth and development, and as Director of Planning for the City of Jackson, Mississippi, overseeing multiple departments and initiatives in urban planning and community development. James holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in City and Regional Planning from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
