Omar Martinez is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in grants management, project funding, and policy development. Currently serving as the Assistant Director for The City of El Paso, Texas, Omar oversees grants, federal programs, and international policy initiatives. Previously, as the Grants and Strategic Initiatives Manager, Omar led the city’s Discretionary Grants Program. As the founder of BoxModelData, Omar specializes in construction project management and funding acquisition. Roles at the El Paso County Water Improvement District involved IT, grant writing, policy analysis, and construction monitoring. At the Rio Grande Council of Governments, Omar directed economic development initiatives and administered state programs. Earlier experience includes work as a Resident Relations Specialist and as a Research Assistant at The University of Texas at El Paso, where Omar focused on public health and environmental engineering. Omar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English/Mathematics Education from The University of Texas at El Paso.
