John Bailot, MPA, EFO has extensive work experience in the field of fire and emergency management. John most recently served as the Fire Chief for the City of Collinsville since February 2021. Prior to that, they held the role of Deputy Fire Chief for the City of Collinsville Fire Department from February 2020 to February 2021.
Before joining the City of Collinsville, Bailot worked for the City of Worthington as the Deputy Public Safety Director and Fire Chief from January 2018 to February 2020. John Bailot, MPA, EFO has a diverse education history in the field of fire services and public administration. John obtained their Associate's Degree in Fire Science/Firefighting from St. Louis Community College in 1992. Following that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Fire Services Administration from Western Illinois University in 1998.
In 2006, John pursued further education and enrolled in California State University-Dominguez Hills, where they successfully completed a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a focus on Public Management between 2006 and 2008.
Continuing their professional development, John attended the National Fire Academy in 2014, where they obtained a certificate in Executive Fire Officer (EFO) with a specialization in Executive Leadership.
