Angela Tovar is a dedicated professional in sustainability and urban planning, currently serving as the Chief Sustainability Officer for the City of Chicago since June 2020. Prior to this role, Tovar was the Program Manager for Environment and Sustainability Initiatives at Cook County Government from October 2019 to June 2020. Tovar has extensive experience in community development, having worked as the Director of Community Development at The POINT CDC and held the position of Director of Sustainable Policy and Research at Sustainable South Bronx. Additionally, Tovar contributed to research as a Research Fellow at the Hunter College Center for Community Planning and Development and managed business initiatives at Chicago Cares, Inc. Tovar holds a Master in Urban Planning from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies/Affairs from the College of Charleston.
