Danais Ponce is an experienced community planner currently employed by the City of Burnaby since January 2019, with progressive responsibilities including roles as Housing Planner, Planning Assistant, and Planning Technician. Previous experience includes a Planning Intern position at Trolleybus Urban Development Inc. and a Graduate Teaching Assistant role focused on Qualitative Methods at Queen's University. Danais held a Research Assistant position in Facility Management at the City of Calgary and served as a Youth Facilitator in a community action team at Y2K, advocating for a youth-friendly city. Early career roles include Ice Hockey Supervisor at the University of Calgary and Planning Research Assistant for Calgary Transit. Danais holds a Master’s degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies/Affairs from the University of Calgary.
