Bonny Specker is an accomplished academic and public servant with extensive experience in epidemiology and city governance. Currently serving as a City Council Member for the City of Brookings since May 2022, Bonny also holds the position of Professor & Chair Emerita at South Dakota State University, a role held since 1997. Prior to this, Bonny was a Professor at both Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati from 1985 to 1997. Bonny earned a PhD in Epidemiology and a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, along with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Cincinnati.
