Marcela Cortes is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in event planning, communications, and journalism. Currently serving as an Event Planner for the City of Brookhaven, Georgia since July 2021, Marcela has also held roles as a Senior Communications and Marketing Specialist and Public Engagement Specialist. As the Founder and Designer of Luvaboo since 2010, Marcela has demonstrated entrepreneurial skills. Prior experience includes working as a Media Coordinator at the Consulate General of Mexico in Atlanta and as a News Reporter/Copy Editor at Mundo Hispanico. With over twelve years as a correspondent for EFE News Agency, Marcela has contributed to various print and online publications on diverse topics. Educational achievements include a Master’s Degree in Cultural Management and a Diploma in International Cultural Cooperation from Universidad de Barcelona, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from Universidad Federada de Costa Rica.
