Karen Purnell, MSHR, PHR, currently serves as the Assistant Human Resources Director at the City of Broken Arrow since June 2021, collaborating with the senior executive team to support the institution's business strategy across various HR disciplines. Prior to this role, Karen held positions including Human Resources Manager at The Home Depot Pro and University Village Retirement Community, and Director of Human Resources at McCormick Theological Seminary. Karen began a career in human resources as a Human Resources Assistant at Crain Communications Inc. after an internship at Manor Care Health Services. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Human Resources from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from St. Xavier University.
