Michael Alkhal serves as the Director of Public Works and City Engineer for the City of Bethlehem, a position held since June 1998. In this role, Michael specializes in transportation engineering, infrastructure improvements, and the management of municipal government services. Responsibilities include construction oversight, managing significant capital improvement projects, continuous improvements, budget preparations, and public relations. Prior to this role, Michael worked as a Senior Engineer at Dames & Moore (URS Corporation) from February 1986 to May 1998, focusing on civil and environmental engineering projects, including site remediation, hydrologic/hydraulic studies, storm water management, pollution prevention plans, and landfill development/closures. Michael holds a degree from The Pennsylvania State University.
