Bala Araniyasundaran, P.Eng. PMP, currently serves as the General Manager of Infrastructure and Growth Management at the City of Barrie since January 2019, focusing on the delivery of essential infrastructure services and fostering sustainable community growth. Previously, Bala held various leadership positions including Director of Infrastructure at the City of Barrie, Principal Infrastructure Services at Colliers Project Leaders, and Business Group Manager at GHD, where significant contributions were made to municipal project delivery and planning. With a robust background that also includes directorship roles for the Capital Planning and Delivery at York Region and project management at the Ontario Clean Water Agency, Bala has over three decades of experience in engineering services, infrastructure development, and municipal operations, supported by a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Guelph.
