Meredith Matthews currently serves as the Executive Director of the Arcata Chamber of Commerce since May 2023 and has been the Mayor of Arcata since July 2021, also holding the position of Council Member. In addition, Meredith has been a Board Member at Humboldt Made since June 2022 and previously worked as an Administrative Specialist at Redwood Coast Energy Authority from July 2018 to May 2023. Other roles include Fundraiser for Cooperation Humboldt from January 2021 to December 2022, Business Manager at Fieldbrook Elementary School, and Board Member at the Arcata Chamber of Commerce from February 2021 to July 2021. Meredith's earlier experience includes serving as Superintendent/Administrator for JUNCTION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT and Fundraising Coordinator for Mid Klamath Watershed Council. Meredith notably managed Starbucks Coffee Company locations as both Store Manager and Management Trainer from March 1994 to December 2006. Educational background includes a degree in Culinary Arts from Western Culinary Institute and studies at Humboldt State University.
