Ambar Calvillo-Rivera's work experience includes roles at various organizations. Ambar is currently the Director of Leadership Development at City Fund, where they design and implements leadership development strategies for innovative public school systems. Prior to this, they were the Principal & Co-Founder of CR Strategies LLC, where they managed stakeholder and civic engagement projects. Ambar also served as the Vice President of Campaigns at Voto Latino, leading a national campaign to mobilize young Latinos in the 2018 midterm elections. Ambar has extensive experience in community engagement and partnerships, having worked as the Director of Community Impact at United Way of El Paso County and as the Director of Community Engagement & Partnerships at the Democratic National Committee. Ambar has also played key roles in healthcare outreach and enrollment, serving as the National Director of Field and Partner Engagement at Enroll America. Ambar holds a graduate assistantship at The University of New Mexico, where they developed outreach and leadership programs for students.
Ambar Calvillo-Rivera earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Organizational and Corporate Communication from The University of Texas at El Paso, which they attended from 2007 to 2011. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at The University of New Mexico, where they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Educational Leadership and Organizational Learning from 2011 to 2013.
