Erik Johnson is the CTO and Founder of City Detect, a position held since June 2020. Prior to this role, Erik served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at The University of Alabama from October 2017 to September 2024, and at the University of Richmond from August 2015 to May 2017. Additionally, Erik held the title of Assistant Professor at Quinnipiac University from May 2008 to August 2015 and worked as a Consultant for Global Expert Advisors, providing consulting services to the Government of Mongolia under a World Bank Development Contract in 2007-2008. Erik's academic journey includes earning a PhD in Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder between 2002 and 2008, following a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Northern Michigan University completed in 1999.
