Michael Alvarez, CIFI, FCLS, currently serves as the SIU Manager at Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, overseeing the Special Investigations Unit-Claims Fraud Team since December 2021. Previously, Michael held the position of SIU Investigator III in the Major Case Unit. In addition, Michael is a Director on the Board of Directors for the IASIU South Florida Chapter as of August 2023. Michael's extensive background in investigations includes roles as SIU Investigator II at Florida Peninsula Insurance Company, where responsibilities included training new hires, and as a Special Investigator at Infinity Insurance, focusing on suspicious claims resolution. Michael's career began in law enforcement as a Police Officer/Detective with the Miami Police Department from January 2005 to March 2015. Michael holds a Florida Law Enforcement Officer Certification from Miami Dade College and a high school diploma from Miami Coral Park Senior High School.
