Sujeewa Kumarapperuma holds a BSc. degree in Physical Science with a Second Class Upper from the University of Colombo.

He started his career as a Management Trainee at Ceylinco Insurance PLC - General Division in 1992. In 1993, he was absorbed to the newly established Actuarial Division of Ceylinco Insurance PLC - Life Division as an Actuarial Trainee. In 2009, he was appointed as the Head of the Actuarial Division. In October 2019, he was appointed as the Head of Risk Management Division of Ceylinco Life Insurance Limited.

During his career, he has headed the Group Insurance Division, Reinsurance Division and the Investment Division of Ceylinco Life.

Mr. Kumarapperuma is a member of the Strategic Planning Team of the Company (since year 2003) and the Operational Investment Committee of the Company (since 2009).

Currently he serves as a Senior Deputy General Manager/Chief Risk Officer at Ceylinco Life Insurance Ltd. He possesses over 26 years of professional experience in the actuarial field.

Mr. Kumarapperuma is a founder member/associate of the Actuarial Association of Sri Lanka and a life member of the MBA Alumni Association of the University of Colombo.
