Clare Moriarty's work experience includes serving as the Chief Executive at Citizens Advice starting in 2021. Prior to that, they were the Chair of the Covid-19 Impact Inquiry at The Health Foundation and also held a role as the Special Representative attending the Transport for London Board at the Department for Transport. From 2019 to 2020, they served as the Permanent Secretary at the Department for Exiting the European Union. Clare also held the position of Permanent Secretary at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs from 2015 to 2019. In previous years, they held various roles at the Department for Transport and the Department of Health.
Clare Moriarty obtained a BA Hons degree in Mathematics from the University of Oxford from 1982 to 1985. Clare later pursued a Diplome International d'Administration Publique from ENA - Ecole nationale d'administration between 1990 and 1991. Clare also received the FCCA certification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 1995.
