Zelong Qiu started their work experience as an Azure Machine Learning - Software Engineering Intern at Microsoft in 2016. They then joined Microsoft as a Software Engineer in 2017 and held this role until 2019. Zelong then worked as a Software Engineer at Citadel from 2019 to 2021. Currently, they are a Quantitative Researcher at Citadel Securities starting from June 2021.

Zelong Qiu completed their high school education in 2010 at Beijing National Day School, where they obtained a High School Diploma. From 2010 to 2015, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Applied Mathematics and a second Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In 2015, Zelong attended Harvard University to earn a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computational Science and Engineering, which lasted until 2016. Lastly, from 2022 to 2025, they pursued a Master of Science - MS degree in Data Science at New York University.
