Vadim Chapko has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Vadim currently works as an Algo Developer at Citadel Securities since January 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Software Engineer at KCG Holdings, Inc. from September 2015 to November 2020. Their role at Morgan Stanley as VP, Fixed Income Electronic Trading lasted from May 2012 to September 2015, while at Goldman Sachs, they held the position of VP, Fixed Income Currencies and Commodities from July 2010 to May 2012.
Early in their career, Vadim worked at ICAP North America Inc. as the VP of Software Development from April 2003 to April 2010. Vadim was responsible for overseeing all aspects of software design and development for a strategic program. Additionally, Vadim managed a team of 40 developers and successfully led the implementation of Phase 1 in March 2010. Before that, they served as the Development Manager at EBS (acquired by ICAP in May 2006) from April 2003 to May 2006.
Vadim Chapko also gained valuable experience at American International Group (AIG) as the Development Manager from June 2002 to February 2003. During their tenure, they managed a team of software developers and played a key role in improving the quality and efficiency of internal software development. Vadim led technology adoption, including Blaze, Java/J2EE, and UDB.
In addition, Vadim worked as the Development Manager at Prudential Financial from May 2001 to May 2002. Vadim led a cross-functional team responsible for requirements gathering, design, development, and production support of E-Commerce projects. Their contributions resulted in substantial operational savings for the Group Insurance Unit of The Prudential Insurance Company through the implementation of self-service Internet applications.
Earlier in their career, Vadim served as a Team Lead at Transagon, Inc. from March 2000 to March 2001. Vadim was responsible for the design and development of the Payments Processing system for a secure Internet shopping portal. The system included privacy protection features, advanced fraud detection measures, real-time authorizations, payment processing, chargeback handling, reconciliation, and reporting functions.
Vadim Chapko's work experience also includes their role as a Systems Architect at Merrill Lynch from May 1995 to March 2000. Vadim was responsible for developing firm-wide strategies to ensure low latency, high throughput, and resilient access to legacy mainframe applications and data. Vadim evaluated and made recommendations on products offered by IBM, Microsoft, and CISCO/StarQuest, providing valuable input to executive IT management.
Vadim Chapko completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Brooklyn College, from 1989 to 1994. Vadim then pursued a higher degree and obtained a Masters in Computer Science from New York University, from 1997 to 2003. Later, in 2010 to 2011, Vadim Chapko attended the CQF: Wilmott School of Quant Finance and earned a Certificate in Quantitative Finance.
