Jim Carhart

Colocation & Systems Integration Engineer at Citadel Securities

Jim Carhart has extensive work experience in the technology sector. Jim started their career as a Division Manager at Collective Technologies from an unspecified start date until 2000. In this role, they managed a team of UNIX and NT systems administrators and also provided pre-sales support for consulting services.

From 2000 to 2002, Carhart worked at Time Warner Cable, first as the Director of Security, responsible for policy, auditing, monitoring, incident response, and remediation. Jim later became the Director of Applications, Operations Engineering, overseeing a team of UNIX Principal Engineers and managing residential customer email, news, and DNS services.

Carhart then joined Walleye Trading in 2010 and held two roles during their tenure. As the Senior Infrastructure Manager, they provided operational technical infrastructure support for a hedge fund specializing in market maker financial exchange roll. Jim also served as the Chief Security Officer, developing security policies and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements and managing the company's security risk profile.

In 2019, Carhart became a self-employed Independent Contractor, offering various technical services such as security monitoring, Linux system administration, and secure DNS infrastructure design.

In 2021, Carhart joined StorONE. Enterprise Storage Platform as a Linux Developer, working on the development, quality assurance, and support of enterprise erasure coding-based software storage solutions.

Currently, Carhart is working at Citadel Securities as a Colocation & Systems Integration Engineer, starting in 2022.

Jim Carhart attended Bucknell University from 1980 to 1984, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, they enrolled at Bucknell University again from 1987 to 1989 to acquire a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Fatigue and Fracture.
