Hongxiang Qiu has a diverse work experience in software engineering and research. They started their career as a Course Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015, where they worked for one semester. Later in 2015, they became an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Forward Lab, UIUC, and continued in this role until 2017. In 2016, Hongxiang worked as a Quant Dev Intern at Akuna Capital for a short period of time.

In 2018, Hongxiang interned as a Software Engineer Intern at Citadel Securities. They then joined Citadel in 2019 as a Software Engineer and worked there until May 2020. Currently, Hongxiang is working as a Software Engineer at Citadel Securities, starting from May 2020.

Hongxiang Qiu received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2013 to 2017. During this time, they also pursued a second Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Operations Research from the same university, which they completed from 2015 to 2017. Later, from 2017 to 2019, Hongxiang Qiu attended Harvard University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Computational Science and Engineering.
