Chun Zhang is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in network and data path software development. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Cisco since July 2018, Chun Zhang focuses on Data Path software for Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW). Previous roles include a Senior Software Engineer position at Extreme Networks, where Chun Zhang designed and implemented a server application using Python Flask for the medical IoT sector, utilizing machine learning to enhance traffic pattern analysis. Earlier experience at Cisco involved designing IP flow management components for WAN acceleration software and contributing to the porting of a BSD IPv6 stack into MontaVista Linux. Chun Zhang began a career in research as a Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializing in controls, telecommunications, and networks. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Electrical Engineering and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Automation from the University of Science and Technology of China.
