Michael "Ryan" Arlan has a diverse work experience in the field of customer support and IT. Michael "Ryan" started their career as a Desktop Support Technician at Spencer Gifts LLC in January 2011 and worked there until October 2012. Later, they joined Miles Technologies as an IT Consultant in October 2012 and worked until March 2013, where they provided Tier II support and troubleshooting for desktop and server issues.

In 2013, Ryan joined Shore Memorial Hospital as part of the IT Service Desk team and worked there until April 2014. Following that, they joined Linode as a Linux Customer Support Specialist in April 2014 and was later promoted to Senior Customer Support Specialist in October 2014. From August 2015 to February 2016, they served as the Manager of Customer Support at Linode.

Ryan then joined CircleCI in 2016 and held multiple roles, including Senior Customer Support Engineer, Senior Devops Customer Engineer, and currently works as the Regional Manager - DevOps Customer Engineering since October 2021. Michael "Ryan"'sexperience mainly revolves around customer support and engineering in the DevOps domain.

Michael "Ryan" Arlan attended Atlantic Cape Community College from 2009 to 2011, where they pursued a degree in Computer Information Systems. During this time, their field of study focused on Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services. In December 2013, they obtained a certification from Cisco, specifically the Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching.
