Mark Fowler has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Mark started their career in 1998 as the Head of Research and Development at Profero, where they conducted research on innovative technologies for online advertising. In 2003, they joined Fotango as the Head of Engineering, overseeing multiple departments and managing around twenty reports. From 2007 to 2012, Mark worked at Photobox as the Head of Architecture, responsible for the delivery and maintenance of internet-based software products. Mark then served as a Web Architect at OmniTI from 2012 to 2013 and Circonus from 2014 to 2015. Mark joined MaxMind in 2015 as a Senior Software Developer and held the position until early 2020. Currently, they are working as a Software Engineer at CircleCI since February 2020. Additionally, throughout their career, Mark has also been involved in numerous open source projects.

Mark Fowler attended Imperial College London from 1996 to 1998, where they obtained a BSci degree in Computer Science. Following that, they pursued further education at the University of Bath from 1998 to 2000, earning a BSc degree in Computer Science.
