François-Régis Goebel

Research Director at CIRAD

François-Régis GOEBEL has extensive work experience in the field of entomology and research. François-Régis began their career in 1989 as a Researcher at CIRAD, focusing on entomology and integrated pest management until 1993. François-Régis then continued to work at CIRAD, taking on various roles such as Senior Entomologist and Policy Advisor for the sugarcane sector, Visiting Scientist at SASRI in South Africa, and Project Manager at BSES Limited in Australia. In 2012, they became a Team Leader and Project Manager for the Crop Protection division at CIRAD. Currently, they hold the position of Research Director at CIRAD, a role they have held since September 2013. Throughout their career, François-Régis has specialized in pest management, specifically in stemborers and white grubs, and has collaborated with various institutions and organizations.

François-Régis GOEBEL obtained a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biology, Agronomy, Genetics, Environment, and Ecology from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III in 1981-1983. François-Régis then pursued a Master's degree in Agrochemistry at Toulouse INP from 1984-1985. Later, they completed a Doctorate (PhD) in Entomology, Crop Protection, and Ecology at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III from 1997-1999. François-Régis GOEBEL also received a Baccalaureate in Biological and Physical Sciences from Lycée classique de Bouaké in 1979-1980. François-Régis is currently pursuing a Habilation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) at Toulouse INP, specializing in Insect Pest Management and Agroecological Crop Protection.
